Indonesia, Malaysia, and the EU develop a guide for smallholders on EU deforestation rules

Indonesia, Malaysia, and the EU will develop a practical guide for smallholders on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by November, the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) announced. This follows the EU’s proposal to delay EUDR implementation after global concerns. The guide aims to help small businesses in palm oil, coffee, rubber, timber, and cocoa sectors comply with the rules, which will ban imports of commodities linked to deforestation. The EUDR will require companies to prove their supply chains are deforestation-free or face fines.
